Tech predictions that fell flat - (Infographic)

Those of us who are a bit older than Generation Z still remember when people used to think the internet would fizzle out at some point. But hey, did you know that they used to say the same things about the telephone and even electrical outlets? Apparently new technology of any sorts has never been unanimously received in a positive light. Here’s an infographic (we know how much you like those) going through the ages and the products that were “supposed” to fall flat on their faces. — Get educated after the break!

How massively gigantic is Google exactly?

When you think of it, we really couldn’t live without Google. They made web searching useful, they created a video sharing site that gobbles 24 hours of video every minute (4 years worth of video every day) and they have a slew of different services that make online life possible. It’s truly astonishing that a company who used lego bricks to build servers has now gone public and has almost 40,000 employees. Here is how massively gigantic Google is…

Here's the difference between Mac and PC users - Infographic

Dodge and Chevy, Pepsi and Coke, and now Mac and PC — when it comes to company rivalry there’s a certain mold that cusomters fit into when selecting which one they want to buy. When you think of the Mac arch-type you automatically think of a college kid, hipster who’s sense of cool comes from his ability to nag his parents to buy him expensive gear. And as for the PC, you tend to think about the businessman; spreadsheets and Power Point presentations galore. Well, this infographic breaks down the two personalities. — More after the jump!

Nintendo's "Project Cafe" gets blurry presentation images, possible name and pricing

Rumors are one thing, but when it comes to leaked presentation slides, well, now we’re getting warmer. And it seems that after all the leaks we’ve been hearing about “Project Cafe”, a.k..a the Wii 2, Nintendo has apparently made the rounds to third party developers, perhaps showing off the above slide in closed meetings, introducing them to what may be the next step in the Big N’s planned revolution. — Details after the break!

View 3D image mock ups of Wii and Gamecube games on your 3DS

Being an early adopter of the 3DS hasn’t been all what it’s cracked up to be. Sure, we have Steel Diver and Super Street Fighter IV 3D which both look fantastic, but many of the games, like Kid Icarus, Metal Gear Solid, and the Ocarina of Time remake, which were all teased at E3 2010 are yet to be seen, and without any solid release dates it’s making the justification for a $250 new handheld that much more harder. But what if I told you that some smart folks around Neogaf and other sites have found a way to replicate what 3DS games look like but on old screenshots of previously released Wii and Gamecube games? — More after the break!

Everyday app asks you to pay $1.99 for a reminder

We’ve all seen those videos on Youtube of people who take pictures of themselves for an entire year, or even for decades, however maybe you’ve now been inspired to copy their idea and do something quasi-creative. Well, buy the Everyday app and pay 2 bucks for a simple reminder you could’ve easily set for free on your iPhone.

WebComic of the Week - Looking for Group

“Before Lord of the Rings, before World of Warcraft… there were these guys. Their adventures aren’t pretty, but it’s there”, is the brief descrition that aptly sums up Looking for Group. Its author, Ryan Sohmers, and its artist, Lar DeSouza, who also work together on the popular humorous comic Least I Could Do, are a part of Blind Ferret Entertament, a grouping of well made comics. The other comics that are a part of Blind Ferret are fairly popular, but it seems to me that Looking For Group is slightly left out of the mega circle. Which begs the question, “why?” Seeing as fans all over think that the series highly deserves to be thrown in with the other big boys. — More after the break!
