ChitChat - Real chat for Facebook, no Browser needed

I just got an email from Daniel Offer, someone behind a new company called ChitChat - who makes this nifty little Facebook chatting app for Windows XP, Vista and 7. It basically makes it possible to use Facebook chat, without a browser in a way that feels like MSN. Some of the features include the ability to use it without a browser, a more robust interface (not the simple one that Facebook offers), notifications and a Tabbing system to make it easy to switch between different ChitChats. The interface could use a little polishing and more originality, but I say give it a try.

Copy and Paste in Windows Phone 7 - 'People don't do that'

Earlier this week, Microsoft made everyone facepalm - because they announced that Copy and Paste will not be coming to Windows Phone 7, and that doesn't necessarily line up with what the company has said in private before - Great job Microslop. Microsoft says leaving Copy and paste functionality out of the design plan was a conscious decision based on user research showing that people don't actually use copy and paste very often. Don't just take our word for it, Engadget had a sit down with Todd Brix from Microsoft, so listen to him for yourself.

Video - Unlimited Detail - Gaming is going to change, forever

Every year, the amount of polygons a PC can render increases by 22% -  and it is currently an endless battle to be on top. ATI and Nvidia are fighting to own the gaming market, and the single most important thing they focus on, the main goal, is the amount of Polygons they can fit on your screen. Unlimited Detail is going to change that because what they can do is un-cap the limitations of current hardware and re-work the way computers handle geometry.

Video - Ubuntu working on HTC Touch Pro2

We all knew there was going be some sort of Desktop OS ported to a mobile device sooner or later, mostly because these devices are so powerful now and have amazing hi-res screens, most of which are multitouch. Sebbo90 from the XDA-Developer forums has found a way to calibrate the touch screen for Ubunutu 8.0.4 to be usable on the HTC Touch Pro2, and PocketNow has put together a wicked video of it. Some things to note are that the Wifi, Sound and Power Management (among other things) are not currently functional yet on the Pro2, but hopefully we will find a way soon. This is super cool and you need to watch the HD video after the break!
