Sony Ericsson's Aspen to feature Windows Mobile 6.5.3

Windows Mobile has graced copious handsets since its establishment in 2002. Whilst it helped establish the paradigm shift into modern smartphone use, there was always one feature that was continually lacking; a finger friendly interface.

The next iteration of the OS, Windows Mobile 6.5.3 has recently been spotted on Sony Ericsson's Aspen (also known as, Faith). The latest consumeristic device from the mobile dominant, is a business orientated handset, sporting a full QWERTY candybar layout with 3.2 MP camera, GPS with Google Maps integration, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi and microSD expansion slot. The Aspen is also packing quad-band GSM / EDGE with either HSPA 900/ 2100 or 850/ 900/ 2100 radios. It is expected to be released in the second quarter of the year.

Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is a significant move up the spectrum for Microsoft -- especially given the competition (i.e. Android, Apple and Palm). Windows Mobile 6.5.3 sets out to offer a finger friendly layout, support for capacitive touchscreens, and all with the ability to support multi-touch (about time). The OS also claims better memory management, flick gestures and faster rotational speeds.

Behemoth's Third Game Now Officially Titled "BattleBlock Theatre"

Along with releasing a new trailer (which you can see above), The Behemoth, creators of the fantastic games Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid have finally given a name to their newest project, which up until now has been simply called "Game 3."

Now titled "BattleBlock Theatre," the trailer shows off... well, crazy gameplay combined with many things that don't make much sense. It's pretty typical stuff for Behemoth and it's looking great, although it would be nice to figure out what the heck is going on!

Video: Apple iPad Tablet Explained

Lead Editors Brandon Davenport, Nick Mahar and Ricardo Trejo take some quality time to tear apart the iPad and stop along the way to point out some of the ways it can fin into life. Ricardo is in love with the iPad and has been defending it ever since it was launched, he says "it could be some peoples first experiences with the internet" and he feels it is a vital participant in the on-the-go Apple Line up.

Nick on the other hand wants to give Mr. Jobs a firm smack in the face and say "What the hell were you thinking? iPad!?". Nick thinks this is "not a ground breaking product" and believe it or not, he is an Apple Fanatic! I on the other hand I see this in a neutral fashion, on the outside looking in, amazed by its beauty and simplicity, but still flabbergasted at how many different female toiletry products I can call it.

Google Chrome Tablet Concept Video is Cool

We were all hot n' bothered about the iPad and its lack of "whatever we wanted" so we decided to put on our scrunched eyebrows and sulk in a corner. Well, this may cheer you up a bit. Its far from being on your lap, but it sure is a start -- its a concept video for Google's speculated Tablet to hopefully compete with Apple's iPad.

The video shows that the abnormally huge tablet would multitask, and the UI (simple as it is) is pretty cool. Remember all of this video is a depiction of what could be -- we don't know who made this little gem, but i'm sure we will soon.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 Available Now

Nothing super big but it does claim to improve your battery life which is always nice. More updates include fixes for problems with the Japanese Kana keyboard and some mysterious issues with third-party apps failing. Maybe Facebook won't crash so much? All sounds good to me.

How to: Make an HTML Signature in Gmail (Chrome)

Whether you're using Firefox or Chrome, if you're in need of a little bit more "mph" in your email, adding a customized HTML signature may just do the trick. And if you're using Firefox it's as simple as installing a plug-in here and there, but Chrome users have it a bit tougher. So really, this "How To" is for you.

So let's get right into it

How To: Run Android on Windows Mobile Handsets

Ever wanted to run Google's latest and greatest Android OS on your Windows Mobile 6.5 handset? Sure HTC's Sense interface, in conjunction with stunning hardware (HD2 and TouchPro2 alike) makes Microsoft's dated operating system bearable; but just how many fanboys strive to run both operating systems?

Behold "Gen Y DualBoot", the latest and greatest hack to come out of XDA-Developers, essentially this is a Linux based boot manager, allowing the user to cycle between Android and WinMo 6.5. (In hindsight, it acts in a similar manner to boot-managers featured on Windows and Macintosh PCs)

PocketNow shares how to steps, as well as a video demo. Whilst essentially this ROM is intended for a HTC Touch Diamond 2, PocketNow clearly shows it functioning on a TouchPro2.

Whilst this hack may be intriguing to some, it isn't for the faint at heart. Be warned there is the sheer possibility of accidentally bricking your handset.
