Pennies are useful for something after all...

Remember back in 1999 when you were just shedding your virginity to over-clocking? Remember the 80 bucks you spent on gizmo's and do-dads for your CPU and Video card to keep them cool? Well you could have spent 20 cents (very literally) on this retro-fitted video card heat-sink upgrade made out of pennies. "5 more and he'd increase his heat transfer by a quarter." See what dono1 did there?

Oh, wait. More?

Video: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Gameplay

From what the leaked video shows, Sonic 4's Episode 1 will consist of the following 5 levels:

Splash Hill Zone, Lost Labyrinth Zone, Casino Street Zone, Mad Gear Zone, and a Special Stage

The gameplay itself looks a bit rough, as in not finished, so don't take this in yet as the final product, but I can't shake the fact that Sonic doesn't seem to move the way he used to. I'm not sure how to put my finger on it, but there's something off about how he picks up speed and how prolonged the animation is until he stops and starts going again -  I'll reserve judgement until I get my hands on it.

But besides that, the game's looks are everything that Sonic fans have wished for. Let's just hope we get Dr. Robotnik and no Dr. Eggman this time around - man, I hate that name.

"Large" Microsoft Franchise Coming to Natal

As Microsoft continues to push Project Natal forward for it's fall release, a new job listing uncovered by CVG has found that a "large franchise" is in the works for the Natal makeover. Unsurprisingly, Microsoft hasn't revealed which one but the job listing shows that it's probably a core franchise with words like "AI, combat and deep story" located within the listing.

While this isn't the first Microsoft franchise to get the Natal treatment, with Fable 3 already in the works to use the Add-On, you have to wonder which franchise it is? Could it be Gears of War? Halo? Something else? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

A Twitter Capable Commodore VIC-20

Just when you thought your Eee PC was slow, and using Twitter was painful, this gem makes you want to stop feeling sorry for yourself. This Commodore VIC-20 is running software from a cassette tape, has only 5 KB of RAM, and a processor that runs at 1 MHz. Ancient we know, but it is back in buisness and ready to do everything in 140 characters or less.

Using custom software called TweetVER, the folks at the PC Museum will be accessing Twitter from this VIC-20, and loving every keystroke and @reply. You can read the first tweet on Saturday February 20th at 11am EST by following the museum's Twitter account. Its really cool that something so old, something so slow ( 3000 times slower then a personal PC ) is capable of using, and embracing something so new.
