Video: This should be the iPad Commecrial

Watch On Youtube | Watch On Vimeo

I thought that a week or two after the iPad was announced I would be over it; Today while I was thinking about the iPad I witnessed the most intense form of inspiration ever, Music. It's a nifty song by the name of "Moar Ghosts n' stuff" by an artist called Deadmau5, and the song may seem familiar. Just keep this in your head, it's the original.

I made this ad with Sony Vegas Pro 9, Audacity, and Corel Draw. Yes, I know it's a strange combo for a video editor but hey, it seems to have worked. Remember, you can watch it on Vimeo as well, and remember to visit our channel!

Starcraft 2 Closed Beta is Live

Yes, you heard right; the closed beta for Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty is finally here! The sequel, which has reportedly been in production for close to twelve years now, has so many people excited, it's getting to the point of ridiculousness. And this is just for the Beta.

We've been getting hints that the beta would be this week, with an FAQ and System Requirements on the Beta being posted not too long ago. It's nuts to think about just how many people are excited for this but Blizzard's sales will undoubtedly sky rocket yet again.

Sonic Team isn't making Sonic 4

In another surprising, but pleasant, move by Sega, Sonic Team, the developers of most of the Sonic the Hedgehog games from the old 2D classics to his terrible escapades in 3D, won't be making Sonic 4 if the game's Xbox LIVE marketplace page is to be believed.

While the game will still be published by Sega, the game will be headed by developer Dimps. While this may sound like a horrible idea at first, we have to remember that Dimps developed Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance, two Sonic games that have gone back to their 2D roots on the DS and Gameboy Advance respectively and received generally positive reviews.

This sounds like a great idea to me, Sonic Team probably would have screwed it up again. They got closer with what made Sonic so good in Sonic Unleashed but it still wasn't there, with terrible "were-hog" segments that turned the game into a nightmare to play. Considering that Dimps has experience making some good Sonic games, I think we can rest assured that Sonic 4 is in very good hands.

Video: HTC Desire announced at MWC

Announced today along with the HD Mini and the Legend, was none other than the HTC Desire. At it's fundamental level, this handset is nothing more than an embellished Nexus One. The Desire is running HTC's custom UI... Sense, and much like its With Google brethren it's running none other than Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon. In place of the Nexus One's trackball HTC has opted for a trackpad (Visually appeasing? We think so). The Desire carries over the 3.7inch AMOLED display, however there is the added bonus of Flash 10.1 (Yes you read that correctly).

HTC announced that this handset would be "broadly available" throughout Europe, Asia and Australia. -- About time HTC decided to bring another Android handset Down Under, I was starting to go through Android withdrawal.

LG's GW990 - First MeeGo OS Handset

With the metamorphosis of Intel's Mobiln OS and Nokia's Maemo Project we're left with the distastefully named MeeGo OS. As of present, LG appears to have liked the idea so much that their Moorestown powered GW990 will be one of the first handsets to receive the operating system. Essentially this is going to mean very little to consumers; as the GW990 is running a custom UI above the x86-Moblin based core. Could MeeGo be the corner stone for a new line of Nokia handsets? Who knows, but either way its going to be interesting to watch this platform develop.

HTC HD Mini announced at MWC

Today HTC announced the HD Mini, which as you may have guessed is a smaller variant on quite possibly the best Windows Mobile 6.5 device ever created -- the HD2. This device is set to be released in April, and as of yet the OS appears to be rather responsive. Whilst this handset isn't going to impress you as much as the HD2; Sean Cooper, one of Engadget's Mobile editors noted that the form factor doesn't appear to hinder your telecommunication needs as much as you may think. Stay tuned for more on this device in the future.

OpenOffice 3.2 Availble Now

Funny how just earlier today someone asked me if I knew a solution to converting Microsoft Office files, and the only thing I could suggest was to switch over exclusively to OpenOffice. Well, yesterday the new version of OpenOffice 3.2 became available and now supports all Microsoft Office file formats - Download HERE
