What if Super Mario Bros. was made in 2010?

In a world of tutorials and extremely easy difficulty levels it’s easy to forget how hardcore games used to be in the past. So in about 8 images game designer, Zack Hiwiller, summed up how Super Mario Bros. (originally released in 1985) might look like if it were released in the year 2010.

Notice all the intrusions to the game the text messages make? It almost makes you wish games would go revert back to simpler times!

Now please remember this is all in good fun, and we know this is a prototype, but I just have to give a tip of the hat to @kevinrose for finding this!

It’s just one of those moments where everyone hating on the iPad, facepalms. It just goes to show that there is some much needed work to be done to make flash work for touchscreen devices, especially tablets.
