Quanta Redvale's MeeGo infused Moorestown powered slate

It may not be that MeeGo infused Moorestown powered slate from Wistron, but what you’re looking at here is Quanta Redvale’s equivalent, and we’ve got to say… it looks well, brilliant. Clearly Intel saw something in this little gem as it was featured during their keynote, however, having said that it could’ve just been some form of parental biased. After all, Intel is one half of MeeGo’s legal guardianship. Nevertheless, if you’re the least bit curious to learn more about this device (and lets face it, we know you are) you’re going to have to mosey on past the break, but trust us when we say “it’ll be worth it.”

So you have been browsing through the App Store on your iPad - and all you are seeing is games that aren’t free. Well poo-poo to that! I also found it surprising (and frustrating) that there are so few good games for the iPad that are free, and since I had a really hard time finding some good quality games that were free I decided to spread my search out into the tubes of the internet, and I found some real gems!

Qualcomm starts shipping its dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon

They’ve been hinted at since early 2009, but the cats officially out of the bag as Qualcomm’s started shipping their dual-core Snapdragon chipsets. So we don’t know whom they’re shipping to (perhaps HTC?), but we do know that Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz packing Snapdragons will be aimed at higher-end smartphones. They’ve currently announced two chipsets, the MSM8260 and MSM8660, the first offering HSPA+ support and the latter offering multi-mode HSPA+ and 1xEV-DO Rev. B. Both chipsets currently offer integrated GPS, 2D / 3D acceleration, 1080p video encoding and decoding, as well as support for 24-bit WXGA — that’s a whopping 1280 x 800 pixels.(!)

Currently the outlet’s refused to share reference designs — only “prospective customers” are getting face time with the chipsets — but Engadget managed to “pry out a few interesting details.” Unlike Snapdragons of the past, these new chips have two application cores and a single modem core, whereas previously chips were limited to a both a single application and modem core. The big E was also told that before the years end, “an even quicker version of the Snapdragon would be launched” — and best of all, it’ll be aimed at slates and tablets. Press release after the break.

CGI Video - Pixels Taking Over the World

If this video doesn’t make a single bone in your body shake in awe of this awesomeness, get off our blog.

This is the purest, and most concentrated form of awesome there is, why? Because there is a bunch of pixels eating an entire city, which come in the form of the Pacman, Tetris, Donky Kong and many other elements from classic gaming.

This is an Epic Win if I have ever seen one - See More

Blur Ad pokes fun at Mario Kart

We’ve known for a long time that Nintendo isn’t budging from its family friendly style of gaming. Heck, why would they when they’re literally moving mountains of money with wheelbarrows? But even though most of us can still have a ton of fun with games like Mario Kart Wii, sometimes we need something a little bit more grown up.

Blur, one of a trio of racing games that have come out during these past two weeks (Blur, Split/Second, ModNation Racers), is hoping to take some of the edge off of disgruntled man-children who’ve had enough of friend codes and blue shells.

Wistron W1-Tablet found in display booth, due to run MeeGo on a Moorestown chipset

So it may not be in its final official build yet, but that hasn’t stopped the folks from Wistron creating the W1-Tablet. Interestingly enough this bad boy actually does run a build of MeeGo, however, something that’s piqued our interest substantially is that its rumoured to run on Intel’s Moorestown chipset — you know, the one that was due to be released in the recently scrapped LG-GW990. Whilst this device hasn’t been released to the public yet, expect to see some more footage of it over the next couple of days (especially tomorrow since it’ll be featured at the Ultra-Mobility event). In the meantime we’ve got a video of it after the break.
