Motorola’s Xoom has long been proclaimed as the first tablet capable of decimating Apple’s stronghold on the market, but since its release on Verizon in February, just how well has it performed at market? According to recent unofficial sales figures, consumers don’t seem to be showing much love for Motorola’s first foray into the tablet space.
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has managed to surpass yet another mobile competitor; the proof is in the pudding, it’s good to be aboard Google’s smartphone operating system. Having recently passed BlackBerry outfitter, Research in Motion, HTC has continued to tread forward finally besting Nokia in sheer market cap. Today, HTC’s market cap is valued at $33.8 billion. In contrast, Nokia’s market cap is valued at $32.4 billion and RIM’s market cap is valued at $28.5 billion.

Facebook phones, ‘for when the app just isn’t enough’. That’s right, the first of many Facebook phones to come has gone on sale, with INQ’s Cloud Touch heading up retail in the United Kingdom. Making use of an Android based core with tween-infused skinning, the Cloud Touch brings a friendly Facebook-centric user interface to the smartphone.
In an effort to focus in on targeted advertising, the folks over at Google are now making strides to make that happen. Advertisements will now be tailored to the content you care about as it’s based on the mail you receive and read. If you’ve been getting and reading a lot of mail about televisions recently, expect to see some television advertisements. It’s a huge jump foward and it’s coming to Gmail soon.
