Game rentals coming nationwide to Redbox starting today

I live in Las Vegas, y’know Sin City, and because so I’ve had access to $2 a night rentals of newly released 360, PS3, and Wii games for a while now — actually for like the past 2 years. And I actually wasn’t aware that this wasn’t available everywhere until Redbox issued a statement saying they would be supporting many more regions starting today. Yay, I suppose for everyone who wants to try out a game before actually throwing down the cash to buy it. I mean, 2 bucks a day? That’s worse than Blockbuster! — More after the break!

How to easily create a simple PHP Email Form

If <form action=”mailto: example@me.com”> simply isn’t cutting it anymore, it might be time to implement a PHP form, and from a design and usability perspective, users would much rather send a message directly from your website than their email client (most of us don’t even use an email client). Plus, if you have no prior experience with PHP, we break everything down for you. Let’s get coding!

Google Instant Pages loads websites before you see them

Google has once again made something faster, and this time it’s entire web-pages that are already loaded before you click on them. Essentially what happenes is you search for something, and Google takes the first result (the website) and caches a local copy on your computer so when you click the result, the page is loaded from your harddrive instead of from the web-server. Really smart.

The story of EA's Origin and Steam as told by Futurama

Steam has taken the PC market by storm and has become arguably the best way to buy games and connect with friends to play online. The sales are always on, and Valve has managed to breath (much needed) life back into the PC gaming market, so naturally other companies want to get in on the action. EA has a service called Origin that they want to use to compete with Steam, but will raise many moral issues as they take their games out of other outlets (like Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2). This is how the internet feels Orogin started, and how it will come to a crash n’ burn end.

Razer Goliathus Fragged Speed Edition (anti-fray border) review

The Razer Goliathus has always been one of our favorite gaming mousepads; I’ve been using one for well over a year now. For good reason too - it’s precise cloth surface, size options, and even the dashing snake graphic have attracted many a hardcore gamer. But Razer just had to find some way to make it even better. The Goliathus we’re taking a look at today features a special anti-fray border. To quote Razer, “wear enemies down, not your mouse mat”. — Our full review after the break!

Behind the scenes of the Robin Williams Ocarina of Time ad - (Video)

Earlier today when I saw the ad for the first time I couldn’t help but smile all the way through. It’s sorta realizing that video games not only just touch the hearts of the hardcore gamer, but also people you never would expect — someone like Robins Williams who was so fascinated by the original game he named his daughter Zelda.
