New Gorillaz Album Made on the iPad and has been Released for Free

It has finally been released — The Fall by the Gorillaz. One of the greatest parts of the album, aside from it being built completely on the iPad, is that it’s been released completely for free! Of course there are a few strings attached — for members of the Gorillaz site, it can be downloaded completely free, but for non-members you can only stream it after signing up for the mailing letter. If you would like it on your devices and media players, then sadly you’re going to have to wait until later in 2011, and by then the price isn’t going to be free. — More details after the break!

Foursquare is getting more dynamic with comments and photos

Foursquare has announced a second major update for their famous location service. In this update they have included a better interface and the option to allow photo uploads. Foursquare did an amazing job implementing this feature, and also partnering with Instagram, PicPlz, and Foodspotting. Although this feature is nothing new in the check-in world, this seems to be a very successful venture for Foursqaure. Gowalla has had this feature for about nine months and Gowalla recently released data saying they hit the one million mark for photos uploaded.

App Review - FoursqWAR

FoursqWAR
App type:
Game
Price: Free, but add-on’s are pricey
Compatible: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad - iOS 4.1 required
Developer: Project Zebra Ltd.

Are you a Foursquare enthusiast? Have to “check in” into every single place you go? Well, then FoursqWAR maybe the next place you want to “check out”! Yeah, I’ll admit that was corny, and I apologize.

FoursqWAR uses Foursquare’s API to turn a simple means of letting people know where you are into a full on game of tactical turf warfare — Read the full review after the break!

Infographic: Facebook vs Twitter from a marketing perspective

Facebook and Twitter are the two biggest social applications that we know of in the social space. Facebook is by far the biggest social network in the world with over 500 million users vs. twitter’s 106 million. Twitter and Facebook seemed very different in the beginning, but when looking at it from a marketing standpoint they all have the same objectives.

Evernote 2.0 for Mac in a nutshell

Evernote is the amazing note taking service which Darryl and I absolutely love! Evernote has some amazing features behind its service but when it comes to collaboration it has always been lacking. Luckily Evernote has combatted a few of these problems and has released Evernote 2.0. Evernote 2.0 has three major updates stacks, in-app sharing, and a redesigned left bar. Below is a break down of all the major features and then an overall review of 2.0.

Infographic - How's the Apple app store doing?

Seriously, there’s nothing like reading an infographic to make boring stats seem interesting, and this one is no different. Though some of the data compiled in this image I find rather shocking. I mean, I would’ve never imagined the huge market that books takes up in the App Store - it just didn’t make sense to me. There are over 50,000 apps in the book section, which is astonishing figuring the major competition with Apple’s own iBooks app. — Check out the full imge after the break!

Parrotfish is a Dynamic Twitter sidebar for Chrome Users

Ever since the new Twitter was launched, I have found myself using their website a lot more. Twitter really out-did themselves in this relaunch, and has really made me change the way I use Twitter. Their sidebar feature is absolutely epic, but it is obviously missing a lot of features, but Twitter really did a good job embedding lots of small bits of the media from the links and services that are contained in Tweets, but they never really pushed it to it’s full capacity. Finally something is their to full-fill all those missing features!
