Rumor: New Nintendo Platform at GDC
The Game Developers Conference is about one month away, but some sources are saying they've caught wind of Nintendo possibly revealing details of a new platform at the event. Whether this is a console or a handheld is yet to be seen, but despite what everyone says about them having to release an HD version of the Wii in the near future, I don't think Nintendo is ready yet to move onto a new system.

Zelda 2010 will be Wii Motion Plus Exclusive

Eiji Aonuma, producer of countless Zelda games, has said in this week’s issue of Famitsu that the newest installment of the series will be a WiiMotionPlus exclusive.
“After actually making it compatible, it just feels so natural. Link’s sword and the controller that you’re holding become one,” said Aonuma, adding that he'd "like to show something playable" at E3.
The title doesn't have a release date yet, but it's slated to be released by the end of this year, with it first being shown off to the public this June at E3.
Wii Getting Black Boxes for Teen and Mature Games - Japan

Nintendo's Wii boxes have all been a default white color up until now, with the exception of New Super Mario Bros. Wii which sported the famous Mario red (and also received the elusive "Best All Time Box/Box Art Award" from your's truly). But Nintendo's country of origin wants to add another color into the mix; the color black. And it's purpose is much more than just for aesthetics. The first game to sport it will be Zangeki no Reginleiv, a game that plays host to some gorey giant slaying gameplay - not the sorta stuff made for kids. So from now on Nintendo will only being using these black boxes for games rated C (15+), D (17+), and Z (21+) in Japan, to give parents an extra layer to go through before deciding to buy that kind of games for their kids.
I think it's a great step, and more companies should join in on the movement. Sure, ratings are right in front of the boxes and have detailed descriptions in the back covers, but this new effort really takes all the work out of it and makes it ridiculously simple. It also adds a little class to collections of older gamers who may have thought the Wii's white was too wimpy; though, I myself have always been a fan of the simplistic white. I hope Reggie already has this planned out for the US because gawd knows we need it bad.
Super Mario Bros Wii beats Modern Warfare 2 Sales

Modern Warfare 2 has been praised with selling 10 million units globally and has been riding high on intense PR and excitement from fans, but while MW2 was patting itself on the back, another franchise you may know by the name of Super Mario Bros Wii (which was released around the same time) instantly had people going gaga over it. So wait... who won?
Modern Warfare 2 has sold 10 Million copies globally, while Mario Bros Wii has sold 3 Million, just in in Japan! So lets crunch the numbers -- Add: North America 4 million, Europe 3 million, and at least half a million in Australia and the rest of the world, we get over 10 million. Well, there you have it, once all the numbers are chewed, New Super Mario Bros Wii beats Modern Warfare 2. Now get back to work!
Netflix has "Excellent" chance of being on Wii

Recently at CES, CEO Reed Hasting says that the chance of Netflix on Nintendo is "excellent". Their is a possibility of Netflix not coming to the Wii but coming to Nintendo's next-gen product. For us Wii owners, this is a good thing because it's just one more system I can watch my Netflix off of. What ever happens I'm sure that Nintendo will have Netflix on one of their systems soon.
