Video: Metroid Other M Opening Cinematic

Relive the final battle of Super Metroid in this epic video seen through the eyes of Samus-  in beautiful highly detailed CG. I think her voice suits her well, although I'm not a big fan of the suit just spawning onto her like that.

The video's source comes from some lucky attendee of this passed week's Nintendo Media Summit.

The Wii Brings Ghostbusters To A New Level

It looks like all you Ghostbuster fans will be excited for this Wii add-on. The device was created by an obviously obsessed Ghostbusters fan. It works great for the game and it really feels like you have the real device. The speakers within the Wii Remote help the movements sounds real to you and your friends. You can also find a Blue Power Cell on the device that accurately reflects how much power you have left. The proton pack also has a spot on the back for the Nunchuk to rest nicely. Click the photo above to see the rest of the photos including the particle accelerator.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Box Art ?

While frequenting my usual hit spots for message boards I found this godly piece of artwork. No source has been listed yet, but it looks pretty legit since the background behind the official Mario/Yoshi promo image hasn't been seen anywhere else besides gameplay footage, and it didn't look that good. Could this be our official Super Mario Galaxy 2 box art? If it is I have no complaints at all - seeing as I wasn't much of a fan of the original Galaxy's cover art.

Cammy Dunaway: No New Nintendo Hardware Coming Soon

Nintendo of America Marketing President, Cammy Dunaway, puts the rumors to sleep that a Wii 2 or Wii HD will be announced later this year at E3, or anytime soon for that matter:

"Even though our install base is at this point 5 million systems larger than the PS2's install base at the same point in its life cycle, it still has a lot of room to grow. If you think of the PS2, there was been about 50 million sold, Wii [is] close to 28 million sold. So that says to me that there's still a big audience out there we can still access with Wii...

That being said, part of Nintendo's heritage is to always to be looking at innovation and to start working on the next hardware as soon as we launch a platform. So we'll have it ready when the time is right."

She pretty much reiterates everything Reggie and Miyamoto have already said up until this point, and I agree with them that this is not a good time to be coming out with a new system. Nintendo has come up with a well crafted plan for the Wii; taking a hold of the casual market first, and letting the hardcore Nintendo loyalists wait on the side, knowing they would always be waiting for announcements like Metroid: Other M

Video: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Trailer

May 23rd marks the return of our Italian plumber's foray into space explorer in Super Mario Galaxy 2. And while some people may have thought it lazy on Nintendo's part to rehash his latest galactic adventure, I find it a privilege to once again traverse the cosmos with my main man, Mario. And with this news comes the arrival of a trailer that not only is full to the brim with new treats, but also harnesses the very essence of why I play video games.

That song makes me tear up every time...

Microsoft: Xbox's Project Natal can have 5 Year Lifespan

Let's be honest, the only consoles in direct competition in the current generation are the 360 and the PS3 - the Wii is in a league of its own. And both Sony and Microsoft came out early respecting that this generation would break the 6 year console cycle we've become so familiar with; going so far as to say their hardware would last us a full decade of play time. How they planned to do this was anyone's guess, but as time has passed it was always Microsoft who's gone out and made the first move, setting the bar to their standard. With the NXE update bringing about the Channel system, Avatars, Netflix, Twitter, Facebook, and games like 1 vs. 100, the 360 has already had its second wind, but can it get a third right around the time when in generations past gamers have usually replaced their aging systems

Aaron Greenberg, top Microsoft exec for product management, says the Natal can and will by bringing about interruptive technology...
