Valve Replaces Portal 2 Event for "Surprise" at E3

Alright now, don’t get your hopes up too high Half Life fans, but Valve’s previously schedule Portal 2 Pre-E3 event has been slyly replaced with a “surprise”. The contents of said surprise are unknown but we all know what’s on everyone’s minds. We aren’t going to directly say it, so we’ll let the official letter by Aperture Science do the talking for us.

Hulu and Xbox Live Rumor Returns

Hulu and Xbox Live Rumor Returns

We’ve heard this rumor before but now Gear Live is saying that’s all but a fact now; Hulu is coming to Xbox Live and it’ll be revealed at this year’s Microsoft E3 press event.

It’s not surprising, seeing as how successful Netflix’s streaming service has been on the 360 platform, even getting rivals, Sony and Nintendo, to get in on the action.

We can expect some sort of subscription based fees being thrown in there to access Hulu’s content, but that’s also something we’ve been expecting for a while - Read it HERE

PSP2 Rumors and Leaked info on upcoming PS3 firmware

Rumors and leaks, the sustaining life force of the blogging world; First off, today’s rumors regard Sony’s follow up act to their somewhat successful, somewhat mediocre, Playstation Portable handheld, the PSP2. And in the leaks category, the PS3 is no stranger to firmware updates, but a couple of new upgrades coming later this year might just change the stigma we’ve grown accustomed to - especially when it comes to that nasty UI the PS3 has.

Is the Motorola Xtreme coming to Verizon?

Starting sometime next week: Big Red’s rumoured to begin testing its latest Android-powered Motorola device called the “Xtreme.” We don’t have any specs on hand, but considering that ol’ faithfuls Motorola line-up is well… aging slightly, we can only hope that Motorola’s latest device will look similar to the rumoured Shadow (featured above). As soon as those leaked photos and videos surface we’ll be sure to post ‘em. In the meantime how about letting your smartphone fantasies run wild? After all, Moto’s next device could be just that.

EVO 4G rumoured to have June 6th launch for $200 on contract?

Brace yourselves we’ve got some more EVO 4G goodness for ya’ll. According to an Android Central Forum member, the HTC EVO 4G is set to be available around June 6th for $200 on contract (and $600 outright). According to the illustrious forum member, a Shack sales rep came out and filled him in not long after he’d noticed several promotional documents splayed out on the counter; and while this story is interesting, we highly doubt this information is credible. But being as it can’t be disproved we’re - at the present time - longing to believe this one.

Rumor - Nintendo 3DS releasing in October

It will be playable at this year’s E3 but no one expected it to come out this soon - CVG is reporting that “industry sources” believe the 3DS handheld, first announced a month ago, will be available and out on store shelves this October. Pretty bold talk if you ask me, but then again a lot of these rumors usually end being true, though, I do caution you to take this with a grain of salt as always.

Their source had this to say:

“It’s a surprise - we were expecting it much closer to Christmas. But I suppose it gives Nintendo the opportunity to get it front and centre in people’s minds nice and early…  In my experience, you don’t launch a product that early to Christmas unless you’re confident in it - and going to spend a lot of money on it. We’re reassured that Nintendo is going to give it some decent backing in Q4.”

Could we be looking at a 10/10/10 release date? That smells a lot like the 9/9/99 Dreamcast launch - oh nostalgic memories.

SaskTel CEO claims new iPhone coming in June

That’s right kids, its time for another “new iPhone” rumour, this time coming to us from Canadian SaskTel CEO Robert Watson. In a discussion regarding SaskTel’s 3G network launch, Mr. Watson had this to say:

“The good news is that Apple is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they’re going to put us on that. So we’re quite excited about that.”

Make what you will with this claim, but if this information is correct then the CEO would whole-heartedly know about it (a la Mr. Watson). Once again make what you will of this, but remember only time will tell.
