PSN restoration begins -- Sony issues Presidential address and details

So all I have to do is make a successful gaming platform and then run it into the ground with an out-of-date security system, vulnerable to 4chan hackers, and I too can have an office overlooking the Tokyo landscape? Dude, I’m so on it. But while I go do that, here’s Kaz Hirai, President and CEO of SCEI, filling you in on all the recent details on when and how PSN will be rolling back into your homes, so you can finally get your shot at Portal 2’s Co-Op. — Details and video after the break!

PSN Update: Free Games, No Deadline, Deal with it

As the days and weeks go by with PSN still down I wonder, will people who bought Portal 2 ever get a chance to enjoy its amazing Co-Op? Will Sony’s E3 press conference be nothing but an announcement as to when the service will be returning? Or will they skim over it and tease a new system just to get over this PR nightmare they’ve gotten themselves into? These questions have no answer but it’s easy to poke fun. Kevin Butler hasn’t shown his mug on tv in a while so we got to entertain ourselves somehow. — PSN update after the break!

Well, Sony doesn’t seem to be taking any chances, throwing everything its got right out of the gate for their upcoming NGP release. — Rumors fly after the break!

Breaking: Sony has admitted to PSN breach, personal information may have been compromised

Finally, Sony has opened its mouth! SCEA’s Patrick Seybold has admitted that PSN accounts and any of your personal information on them, including credit cards, personal information, date of birth etc could have been compromised in this attack. Here’s an almost shocking quote from Seybold’s statement:While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. This probably isn’t the best day for Sony right now. —  Seybold’s full quote after the break!

PSN down due to "external intrusion" a.k.a. hack attack

Playstation owners just can’t catch a break now can they? First, the hacktivist group known as “Anonymous” decides to take down PSN in some sort of backwards move to show Sony who’s boss, in effect restraining the customers they were fighting for in the first place from playing online. And now, it appears that another hack has made it impossible for PS3 players to use the online service yet again. Problem is, this time Sony doesn’t know who’s after them and how to stop it. — More after the break!

Playstation.com and PSN experiencing downtime after Sony targeted by Anonymous

Anonymous has gotten upset that Sony is going after hackers who are messing with their “closed” system. In retaliation, the group has waged war against the corporate giant despite what GeoHot and others have done being considered illegal, and spoken of as illegal, within the terms of service regarding Sony’s PS3 console. — More after the break!
