The PS2 was certainly the silver age of the 3D action adventure titles first made popular by Nintendo’s own Super Mario. With games like Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Spyro, and Sly Cooper, a whole new generation of gaming icons took center stage. Well, it’s been nearly 6 years since Sly’s been given a new game, so isn’t it time we see him on the PS3?

Rumor: Playstation's NGP will be called the "PS Vita"
Sony’s PSP successor, otherwise codenamed the “NGP” (Next Generation Portable), is rumored to finally have a real name. And that name is “PS Vita”, taken from the Latin word for “life, the same word you see in Vitatops and Vitamin water. What’s Sony up to with this type of branding — a rejuvinating nature in the world of handheld gaming? Who knows, but it’s got me pulling an Angry Video Game Nerd and asking, “what were they thinking?!” — More after the break!
PS3 firmware 3.61 breaking L.A. Noire for some players
Potential game of the year winner, L.A. Noire, developed by reknowned games studio, Rockstar, has hit a bit of a snag after its release this week. According to some complaints made by PS3 owners, the game causes players to suffer odd “start and stop” activity, as well as random shut offs on their systems. However, fingers are being pointed to not the game itself, but rather the latest 3.61 firmware update that made PSN users change their passwords — More after the break!

Let’s cut to the chase; You’re a PSN user and your free service was shut off for 3 weeks. You are angry and you want to be comensated for the wasted hours you could’ve been using to waste your life on a video game online. It makes sense to Sony, so with the return of the PSN they’ve decided to go ahead with their promised “Welcome Back” package, otherwise now known as their “Customer Appreciation” program.
