Ustream comes to iPhone - for free!

All the other people with the other smartphones are scratching their heads at what all the ruckus is. iPhone users on the other hand are trying to find a tripod for their device to see if they can stream their new kittens 24/7. The Ustream Live Broadcaster has just gone live in the App Store tonight and yes, it allows you to stream live video from the iPhone to the web. The cool part is it even works over a 3G connection.

Easy settings within the app make it possible to automatically tweet out when you go live, as well as to do things like share the videos on Facebook and YouTube. The live broadcast can also send out your location, if you’re into that sort of thing. The app also allows for chatting with viewers, and yes/no polling.

Unconfirmed: Intel's Core i3 530 processor up for order

Remember when the Core i7 came out, it was all the rage, but expensive. Then they came out with the budget quadcore proccessor, the Core i5, which is just as good (minus some hyperthreading technologies) for a hundred bucks less. Now Intel is set off to make a newer, lower cost, high performance CPU to raise the standards of mobile, and personal use. More after the break

Editorial: Why the iPhone won't be on Verizon

Verizon will be getting something from Apple sometime in the next year. It won't be a iPhone, especially after the recent Verizon adds directly attacking the iPhone but, there is speculation and rumor from an inside source that Verizon IS getting something from Apple. What might this be? I and many other believe it will be the Apple Tablet. Part of the reason Apple isn't going with AT&T is because they know the use of the network will be heavy so it helps spread out the use between Verizon and AT&T. Great right, now you will be paying for 2 cell services!

Video: Joojoo Tablet hands on - CrunchPad in disguise

I know what you are all thinking, this will never live up to the, now dead, CrunchPad or the presumed Apple Tablet, or the up-coming Microsoft Courier. This is a "new" tablet made by Fusion garage (yes , its those guys who kicked TechCrunch off the CrunchPad project). It sports a high contrast, simple, fast user interface and it is one of the cleanest we have seen. Engadget had a lucky chance to see the Joojoo in action, and this thing is ready to tickle tummies and bring smiles, for those of us who are over the fact of the TechCrunch backstabbing. Video after the break.

Mac Pro to Get 6-Core Xeon Gulftown Processor in 2010?

PCLab prematurely leaked performance numbers on Intel's upcoming Xeon Gulftown (Core i9). Some specs include the CPU being 50% faster. According to their sources, Apple is planing on using the Gulftown processor in a future Mac Pro due out early 2010. If mixed liked a dual-processor configuration, the Mac Pro would have 12 physical and 24 logical cores.

This has been suspected for a while now because of the new iMac. Benchmarks have shown that the performance of these high end iMacs rival that of the entry level Mac Pros that cost considerably more. Including the Gulftown would reestablish a larger performance gap between the consumer and professional desktop computers for Apple.
