t3ch Review: Griffin Smart Talk iPod/iPhone Mic Adapter

Product: Griffin Smart Talk iPod/iPhone Mic Adapter

What it says it does: Offer you the same functionality that the current default Apple earbuds come packaged in with; Be able to toggle your iPod controls with the touch of a button, and also use the built in microphone to answer calls without having to unplug your non-Apple headphones

My experience: The device does exactly what it advertises but with a few snags. You plug in your headphones into the Smart Talk and then plug that into your iPod of choice, including iPhones. From this point on though it’s a bit of a mess, literally.

"Fallout" MMO will begin Beta Testing in 2012

Interplay, the creators of Fallout 1 and 2, have been developing a game for quite sometime now, codenamed Project: V13. It's essentially a Fallout MMO, which has now been confirmed to start Beta Testing in 2012. Depending on the legal dispute between Interplay and Bethesda, this MMO could potentially launch under the Fallout name, but only time will tell who will win the legal battle. Interplay is working with Masthead, who contributed tools and MMO technology originally to their post-apocalyptic MMO, Earthrise.

With both teams working together, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen stated that "Masthead's technology is impressive and perfect for our Project: V13. Its team is passionate to bring our vision and game play to the market."

The Microsoft Courier: Reasons It Wasn't Announced At CES

Recently I was talking to a good friend who works for a design company in the bay area. We were talking about the big Apple event in the next few days and our conversation led us to the Microsoft Courier. I told him I was excited to see what it could do and he mentioned that it might be a while before anything is revealed about it. Apparently, Microsoft was planning on showing the product sometime soon, like at CES, but the device was having some problems.

When the video of the Courier was first leaked on the internet questions were immediately raised on how the device would recognize your hand-writing. As my friend explained, this is what is stopping the announcement and release of the device. The big problem for the software right now is how to recognize each letter in someone's handwriting. Sure it would be fine if you have great hand-writing but most people have completely different looking writing and some are hard to read, let alone have a computer interpret it. My friend also explained that as of now, the courier will only have a digital keyboard which can be activated by pressing a button on the frame of the device, much like the iPhone's home button.

Obviously their are probably many other reasons the device isn't ready for release yet but if speculation of Apple's Tablet, iSlate, or iPad is true, Microsoft better hurry up before Apple revolutionized yet another aspect of the tech industry.

Assassin's Creed 2 PC Release Date Announced, "Extra Content" to be featured

Although it was supposed to come out at the same time as the 360 and PS3 version, the PC version of Assassin's Creed 2 was delayed until "early 2010." Well, after quite some waiting we finally have some information on the PC version's release date and content. Now slated for a March 16th 2010 release date, Ubisoft revealed that the two paid DLC packs for the console versions, the "Battle of Forli" which is due out on Jan 28th and the "Bonfire of the Vanities" which is arriving in February, will be packaged in the PC version.

Ubisoft also announced a "Black Edition" which is available exclusively to digital distribution retailers (Steam, Direct2Drive etc.) that will contain unspecified "extra content" for an extra 10 dollars.

It also has some pretty steep requirements for it to be able to run. PC requirements after the jump

How to make Firefox, IE and every other browser a lot faster

How to make Firefox, IE and every other browser a lot faster

I have taken a little adventure around the net and have learned quite a few ways to make your browser a lot faster. A lot of these types of tutorials are for one type of browser, but I decided to find the best of the best and make an easy peasy guide to making your internet connection faster and optimizing your browser speed. Im sure it will make your favorite websites load blistering fast and I'll make sure to separate it into five parts -- Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera.

Battlefield Bad Company 2's "Squad Rush" Multiplayer Mode limited to Gamestop Preorder's

Along with the new trailer showing off the new squad focused multiplayer mode, DICE revealed today that the new game mode would be available exclusively to players who had pre-ordered the game at GameStop or EB Games in North America....... for the first 30 days. Don't worry though, anyone outside of North America will get the game at launch free of charge. In a much more sensible move by DICE, if one of your friends invites you to a game in Squad Rush you'll still be able to join them, so your never forced to not play with your friends. This doesn't affect the PC version of the game and Squad Rush will be available at launch regardless of you being in North America or not.
