Sony - No 3D for PSP 2

Sony’s SCEA director of hardware and marketing, John Koller, went on record to say that PSP 2 integrating 3D doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen.

“Our focus on 3D right now is on the console,” Koller pointed out. Though he did mention that 3D could well be a “tremendous opportunity” for the Playstation system, but it’s potential for the handheld market is limited. “8 and 9 year-olds playing 3D is a little bit of a stretch given where some of our research is right now,” Koller said.

That’s unless of course Nintendo’s 3DS ends up being the biggest system seller ever, which in that case Sony will then throw all its money into making a “better” 3D experience and try selling it to Nintendo’s already established audience (ala Wiimote/ PS Move).

iPodMeister - Donate CDs and DVDs for a Free iPad

iPodMeister’s site premise is this: donate cd’s and dvd’s to help entertain those in countires where they can’t afford to go digital yet, and in return you’ll be rewarded with nifty Apple products. What you get all depends on how much you’re giving away. For instance, an 8GB iPod Nano w/ video will cost you 220 discs, and a 16GB iPad w/ WiFi costs you 600 discs, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me considering you can’t do anything with CD’s once they’ve been ripped of their music.

Samsung's Wave will be the first phone to support 720p DivX video

Besides the some-what mediocre nature of Bada, name one thing that Samsung’s Wave has? Announced earlier today, it was made public that Samsung’s Wave will be the first smartphone (and we us that term loosely in this case) to support 720p DivX encoded video.  With that said, the Wave’s moment to shine will be short lived; especially when considering the recent announcement of the Super AMOLED, Android infused Galaxy S. With Samsung set to release two handsets capable of HD video playback, we’re beginning to wonder if this will turn into another megatrend.

AT&T U-Verse App Gets Streaming From Your DVR

It was finally announced that the AT&T U-Verse app for the iPhone, and all those other platforms, will be getting a streaming option. AT&T hasn’t set a release date, but the demo seems to show it’s ready to go. AT&T says that the app will allow you to watch any recorded shows on you phone via WiFi. Thankfully we won’t have to pump out any more cash for a Slingbox. I’m just wondering, how high will the quality of video will be?
