LG and iriver team up to create the LG-LB4400

So it may not be an Android handset, leaked iPhone or Windows Phone 7 device, but what you’re looking at here is something that could potentially compete with all three. It’s the jointly developed iriver – LG handset — more commonly known by the South Koreans as the LG-LB4400. As you may have guessed with your super fine detective skills, LG played a part in this device’s conception; ultimately providing the cellphone internals and the industrial design. Whereas, iriver on the other hand, provided this device’s media player as well as its overall user-interface. Internally we’re looking at a 2.8-inch WQVGA LCD display, 3-megapixel camera, Dolby Surround Mobile and DMB TV. If you’re in the mood for a slow buffering video from the Land of the Morning Calm then hop past the break to view all of its goodness.

Firefox Home: possibly coming soon to an iPhone near you

Well, we didn’t see this one coming (to say the least). If you’re one of those guys (or gals) who like’s their browsing history, bookmarks, and the latest set of tabs from your most recent browsing session carried across all your devices (including mobile); then it looks like Mozilla’s packing the good stuff. The recently announced Firefox Home app (for the iPhone) intends to carry over most of your personal browsing affects. That’s not all though, in the words of Mozilla there’s an “Awesome Bar;” essentially, it’ll let you search through just about anything while also predicting options based on current data. Oh, and as usual there’s a but: so while it may not offer full Firefox functionality (as seen on a desktop) it does load pages within the app — slight compromises aren’t always a bad thing — and while it may not have been approved for download yet, the approval of Opera Mini has left us slightly optimistic. Video after the break.

Sonic Colors coming soon to Wii and DS

A lot of us have become quite sick of all these Sonic games that just aren’t up to speed (if you know what I mean). And because of that I’m not sure what to make of this new trailer for Sonic Colors.

I can’t help but feel a little on the Mega64 side, seeing as every time Sega announces a new game featuring “the fastest thing alive” my interest is peaked, but when the game is released my hopes get shattered. This is otherwise known as the Sonic Cycle.

Sonic Colors is due out this Holiday season on the Nintendo Wii and DS.

MeeGo v1.0 now available for download

It wasn’t too long ago that you were teased with all that MeeGolicious goodness. And now, in a bona fide rush to release the real McCoy, MeeGo v1.0 is now available for download. Available in two flavours for your overly excitable palette (Netbook and Nokia N900) — the first supporting Intel Atom chipsets and the latter supporting… well, Nokia’s N900 ARM based-chipset — surprisingly enough. If you’re prepared to head over to Liliputing (or jump past the break) editor Brad Linder has a recorded video of MeeGo running on his MSI Wind netbook. Oh, and has anyone else noticed that MeeGo looks suspiciously more like Intel’s Moblin than a composite of both Moblin and Maemo? Yeah, that’s what we thought.

Social Gaming History Diagram

Social Gaming History Diagram

Gaming has gone so mainstream nowadays that it’s strange to ever think that it was once considered an underground thing to play games like Diablo and Starcraft.

The hobby has gone so far into the mainstream culture that a new term of gaming has been coined: social gaming. Though its spot in video games is new, social gaming and its roots are not - dating back to ancient times when people used to sit around and throw bones for entertainment.

Check out this neat diagram of where it all started from and how social gaming evolved - See it HERE

To all you illiterate book haters, Kindle is better than you, face it - the iPad does stupid stuff like games, movies, music and the internet (which will never catch on). And the Kindle is a premium priced book reader (only!) for the people who enjoy the more refined things in life…
