Steven Sinofsky talking Windows 8 at D9 Conference - Video
We know this is a little boring, but it’s interesting to hear someone at Microsoft talk reasonably and admit that they’re not doing so hot right now. If that was Steve Ballmer up there, he would be pile-driving hype down our throats, and we’d take it — so thank you Mr. Sinofsky for keeping it simple and honestly building the excitement.
Windows 8 in action - Looks great, but still seems half-baked
What you see above is Windows 8. This new Operating System will run on PC’s, Laptops and Tablets. Microsoft says Windows 8 is designed for touch first, and the mouse and keyboard second. The look of the operating system is delicious, taking every core component from Windows Phone’s “Metro” UI, and bringing it to the big screen. Windows 8 makes Windows 7 look obsolete — but theres quite a few gaping holes in the Windows 8 wonder.
Nintendo's official 3DS StreetPass Day is going down June 25th
Being an early adopter usually means you’re the only one in your circle to own the latest thing-a-majig. That being said, it’s safe to say that not a lot of people know another person who owns a 3DS, let alone one that they lives close by. And with that comes an inherent problem; no opportunities to StreetPass with each other! Well, Nintendo hopes to remedy this and hopefully add some StreetPass Mii’s to your shiny new, 3D handheld by announcing a worldwide StreetPass Day, happening on Saturday, June 25th. — Details after the break!
Should you buy this Steam game? - Flowchart
Valve’s Steam has shaken the game industry at it’s core, and has quickly become one of the leaders in gaming retail. It has provided a social, easy and organized world for gamers and game developers — but something that makes Steam so successful is the impulse factor. That game is only $20 right? “Oh, if I pre-order it I get camo for my sniper class!” — this is the downfall of most gamers and their shrinking wallets. Here’s a breakdown of when you should (and shouldn’t) buy a Steam game.
DOOM is now playable within Firefox browser using HTML5 and Javascript
It’s no secret that DOOM has played a significant role in the FPS genre, catapulting it to mainstream acclaim way back when it first hit PC’s. Well, nowadays you can play DOOM on pretty much any platform, even on hacked caclulators — but some people (like me) for one reason or another still haven’t played the original Doom. Well, now that Mozilla add-on developer Azakai has made a full running version of the game for Firefox using nothing but HTML5 and Javascript tools, there’s not a whole lot of ways to ignore it anymore. — More after the break!

Working iPhone iOS 5 notification concept
Notifications on the iPhone worked great the first year or so of the device’s exsistence, but once Apple allowed developers to enable push notifications and added more functionaliaty into the device, the iOS notification system has become a bit of a mess. This is a working demo of a new notification system created by @2guysfrompoland
FortressCraft copies Minecraft - Why you shouldn't be angry
Minecraft is one of the biggest sensations of the modern indie gaming era. Minecraft has amassed a userbase of 8.7 Million people (only 27% have purchased the game legally) and it has taken the creative world by storm. Awaiting an official release later this year, Minecraft fans have been foaming at the mouth for a console version, and Notch hasn’t mentioned much info in that regard. Then, along came FortressCraft…
