The Kindle could be free by November 2011

When it comes to reading e-books, the Kindle has been the market leader for years, mainly because it was the first real e-reader. Other e-readers were heavy and had an eye straining screen. Most weren’t even e-readers, they were other devices (like iPhones, laptops and tablets) adapted for reading books. The Amazon Kindle was the first of it’s kind, and according to price cuts, the Amazon Kindle could be free by November 2011.

The update blame game strikes Windows Phone 7

Microsoft began to roll its first Windows Phone update two days ago, however, what was originally thought to be a trouble-free update has since turned into a major catastrophe for select Samsung Omnia 7 handsets. The scale of computing power at our fingertips is astounding, but the hardware and specs are nothing compared to the amount of interconnectivity seen on today’s social networks and mobile platforms like Twitter would make anyone’s head hurt. However, it’s these always-on services that provide 24/7 conversations that continuously keep us connected and distracted away from the very real world around us. — More after the break!

Dell Streak 7: Is it really as disappointing as reviews claim?

Over the past couple of days I’ve had the chance to read several notable Dell Streak 7 reviews floating around the net. And while originally I’d had high hopes for Dell’s plucky 7-inch slate, my opinion is now beginning to acutely falter. Originally making our top 5 Android tablets list, we (mostly myself), thought Dell’s latest tablet offering would hit all the right buttons sans a decent display that is. Alas, it appears that I’ve been proven wrong. But just what exactly is wrong with the tablet? — More after the break!

Why it's important to disconnect from technology every so often

It’s 2011, and as each day passes, new devices are announced, reported upon, and bought that crave more and more of our time and attention. Constant connectivity to the world’s digital conscience has become a daily routine for the majority of people with savvy new mobile devices — it being the first thing they wake up to and the last thing they see before heading to sleep. Has it ever crossed your mind that you may be depending, or at least, wanting to depend on something that isn’t really real to begin with? — More after the break!
