Note: We have to give credit where credit is due. This idea was thought up by courvoisier_goldteef on Reddit who created this pretty interesting concept for Google Maps. What I did was take his original concept and turned it into something it could actually look like. Why hasn’t Google done this? We don’t quite know — full view after the break!
PayPal, the world’s largest growing online mobile payment service recently filed a lawsuit against online mobile search giant Google. According to information gleaned from the lawsuit, PayPal is currently claiming that Google misappropriated trade secrets affiliated with PayPal’s mobile business model.
Windows Phone hasn’t been doing so hot, and Microsoft knows it but aren’t really acknowledging the fact they need to try harder, and build a healthy ecosystem for developers and users. Windows Phone 7 itself is a fantastic OS, but it fails to overcome the immense new-found success of Android and Apple’s iPhone, so instead of living off meager profits from Windows Phone, Microsoft has begun snatching money from Android.
So, there have been many Email Desktop apps popping up in the past while (mostly for Mac), and most of them support Gmail, but there haven’t really been any great Gmail only apps. There are some features in Gmail that don’t translate to other email providers, so sometimes they are stripped out of these Email apps to make sure the experience is consistent, but what if there was an app just for Gmail, and what if it worked on a multitude of OS’s?
When you really think about how the internet works, one thing comes to mind, URLs, and without URLs it would be extreemely hard to navigate the web. The URL toolbar has been the frontman of every browser since the dawn of the modern web, and to build a browser without the URL bar seems to be a crazy endevour, but Google is known for doing these types of things, and so they are attempting to rid Chrome of the URL bar.
If you’re one of the handful of people in the world who still haven’t played Angry Birds then maybe you’re just trying to avoid the game. Well, it’s coming after you, now that it’s free to play on Google’s Chrome browser. Available on the Chrome Web Store, Angry Birds is a free download, ready to be installed by anyone who doesn’t want their kids (or in my case) my friend’s kids asking to borrow my phone just so they can play Angry Birds all day. — Angered avians after the break!
“It’s ready when you are” — Google, that is exactly the right thing to say. What I love about this ad is the fact that they aren’t selling a Chromebook. Google is selling the idea that computers that rely on the internet could maybe work and that they are going to be the ones that do it right. In the end, very few companies understand that it isn’t about selling your product, it’s about reassuring people that it’s a good idea, and asking them to trust you. Good job so far Google…
