PC Review: Mass Effect 2

The first big release of the year in my must play list is here and it is Mass Effect 2. The original Mass Effect was a great game; it had one of the most fleshed out universes Bioware has ever created, and with the innovative and cinematic feel of conversations it's secured its place as one of the Xbox 360 and PC’s best sellers. That isn’t to say it didn’t have some major flaws - the shooting and gameplay were awkward at best, the Mako was an annoying vehicle that didn’t always work as expected, and your AI companions were usually brain dead in combat, not to mention the major graphical issues when loading into an area. This is where I was wondering if Mass Effect 2 would succeed where the original fell short. I'm happy to say that just about everything has been fixed and now runs on all cylinders.

Sagem Orga's SIMFi the way of the future

WiFi has served the majority of the population well, sure there were a few hiccups along the way, but what technology doesn't have its problems? With the induction of devices such as the MiFi and Overdrive, WiFi transmission on the fly has never been simpler. However, what if it could be simpler? Sim card provider Sagem Orga has teamed up with Telefonica to develop a device that's going to revolutionise mobile computing; they call it "SIMFi". Essentially this modern marvel combines WiFi with your average sim card, this means that you're able to turn any phone into a WiFi hotspot. The SIMFi will enable users to share a wireless connection with authenticated Laptops, MIDs and any other WiFi palpable devices in the general locality. Who would of thought that you could fit a WiFi transmitter into something that is 25 x 15 x 0.76mm in size?

Google Chrome Extensions Now Available on Mac

Google Chrome's extensions have turned everyone's newest browser into everyone's must have browser. Though, sad was the case of our own Nick Mahar, who would've loved to have gotten in on the discussion about Chrome's add-ons in a previous video we did about them -- but alas, he was unable to since he was running Google's browser on a Mac. Well Nick, this ones for you:

Since we released Chrome for Mac in beta last December, we've been busy adding new features. Today, after some incubation in the developer channel, we're happy to make some of these features more widely available. The new beta release of Chrome for Mac offers extensions, bookmark sync, and more.

With this new version, you'll be able to install any of over 2,200 extensions (and counting!) currently available in Chrome's extensions gallery. Extensions can add usefulinformative, fun, or quirky functionality to the browser. You can manage your extensions by clicking on the Window menu and choosing "Extensions."
