Youtube Video Page Redesign - Overview

Youtube has been known in the past to mess stuff up, really bad, along with everybody else like Facebook, Digg and us T3ch H3lp, but sometimes stuff just turns out ok. Look at it this way, they took one of the most bland, flavorless and washed out website styles and flipped it all around. They threw in some actual elements that make sense like a new rating system, commenting system, searching tools and much more. While the guys and girls over at Youtube are taking a breather, lets look at some of the coolest stuff that changed.

t3ch Review: Isis Dei Netbook Sleeves

Product: Isis Dei Netbook 7” - 9”, 10” - 12” Sleeves

What is says it does: A notebook sleeve serves one purpose: keep your notebook, or in this case, your netbook safe from scratches and the outside world.

My experience: I have myself a Dell Mini 9 which incidentally has a white backing. In other words, nicks and scratches show up pretty easily if I’m not careful with it. I’ve had this particular netbook for a year now and I’ve taken well care of it, and I’ve had the Isis Dei netbook sleeves for a good 2 weeks or so. After nestling my mini computing pal in the 7 - 9” sleeve I threw it into my messenger bag and took them both out on the town - more like went to the park, went to other people’s houses, and so on to give it some track experience […]

PS3 getting fancy 3D firmware update in the Summer

Oh my god, I would have never expected this, 3D in a gaming system? Impossible I say! Well, Sony has announced yet something else to make everything more expensive, and make us look like we're a little more retarted the usual (wtf is the mom looking at?).

In conjunction with the release of its snazzy new 3D BRAVIA LCD sets, Sony is planning to release updates to turn the PS3 both into astereoscopic 3D gaming platform, in addition to a 3D Blu-ray compatible movie player and (wasted) time portal. You can expect this sometime in the summer, so stock up on Advil and AAA's.

Nokia N900 meets Sixaxis SNES gaming

Without a doubt the Nokia N900 is one of the most hackable phones on the market today. This shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone, after all the N900 features some pretty swish hardware. The latest and greatest hack to embrace the N900 and the Maemo 5 platform grants users the ability to play SNES games with a playstation 3 controller.

Tomasz Sterna recently recompiled a kernel to add joystick support, he then inserted code to turn the N900 into a portable six axis gaming console that brings SNES gaming to any television. Using the N900's bluetooth, you can re-enjoy the realm of 16-bit gaming.

Breaking: Motorola denounces Droid update

The blogging community was rather gobsmacked when Motorola announced that they would be releasing Android 2.1 for the Droid. Whilst expected, it was not known that the company was planning on releasing the update so soon. We're afraid that the over-zealous excitement felt by some, is about to destroyed through Motorola's redacted statement; apparently a few trigger happy employs rushed the gun and leaked news of the update prematurely. In the meantime, it looks like Droid owners are stuck with Eclair; but hey who really needs frozen yogurt anyway?

Google will offer 'Ultra High Speed' Internet in US

Google is apparently getting ready to gobble up yet another spectrum of the technology industry, and its doing it for a multitude of reasons, but lets first look at the details so far. They are planning to build a fibre-optic network offering speeds of up to 1Gbps (gigabit per second) for around 500,000 homes, which is amazing, but what is even more amazing is they are planning to compete with existing internet providers prices! Google also released some info on their blog [...]
