First 30 min of Heavy Rain Gameplay - Can you handle it?

The guys over at GamesRadar took the time to sit down and endure the first 30 min of Heavy Rain during one of their Live Streams, but what I discovered was that this game seems to be a little dull -- I mean, when I watched the trailer for Heavy Rain, I was instantly excited for the controller to be in my hands and my heart racing with suspense and action. I was wrong. This is like Sims 3 meets Second Life. Gameplay, what gameplay?

According to this video, the first 30 min consists of shaving, getting dressed, drawing a house with grease pencil, and other way-to-normal gameplay elements. The most suspensful moment is when you lose your son in a shopping mall, which is not that un-common these days, but you do end up managing to get hit by a car with your son is in your arms. The trailers seemed to make it feel like a film-noir, sci-fi style story teller, and I know it is, but the main focus seems not to be the "Gameplay" but the story and in-depth attention to detail, maybe too much attention to detail. I mean, QTE Shaving?

Diggnation 243 - Kevin Saves Batman for Us

Just a quick back-story - on this little bit of internet gold: Have you noticed Diggnation has gradually become more of a straighter laced, less-drunk podcast? The truth is, some fans are happy because they like less "crazy drunkenness" and "stupidity". The other 80% ( including me ) have been whining on the Diggnation forums and pleading to have a long awaited "Drunk" episode.

This is the episode is when boys become men, and dignity is all but a bunch of BS. This is what we have been waiting for, and their livers have been dreading.

Video: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Trailer

May 23rd marks the return of our Italian plumber's foray into space explorer in Super Mario Galaxy 2. And while some people may have thought it lazy on Nintendo's part to rehash his latest galactic adventure, I find it a privilege to once again traverse the cosmos with my main man, Mario. And with this news comes the arrival of a trailer that not only is full to the brim with new treats, but also harnesses the very essence of why I play video games.

That song makes me tear up every time...

New 'Explicit' Category in App Store - Sexy apps Coming Back?

I have one question, that's it. Apple: why did you pull those 5,000 Apps that we're "Explicit" out of the App store? You have a new category for Explicit apps don't you? Put them there for god sakes, I mean you are really shooting yourself in the foot here, even though your bringing sexy back.

The new category hasn't shown up in the App Store yet, but what it potentially means is obvious: A place for explicit applications to live, and its a smart move on Apple's part even though they have dug themselves a nice hole so far in terms of exploring censorship. Expect to see this in action soon.

Image: Over 40 Million Tweets per Day

Twitter's blog released this image and wrote that they get 50 million tweets a day on average. What I don't understand is if that's true then why doesn't the graph reflect that? Hmmm, good question.

One other fun fact: 600 tweets are posted each second.

Breaking: Windows Phone 7 Series has three chassis designs

You've heard of Windows Phone 7 Series… You know that Microsoft's planning on dictating hardware specifications… Whilst this is all well and good; did you know that Microsoft has three chassis designs in the work?

Obviously, the first chassis design has already been announced. Shown as the prototype handset, it boasts a touchscreen display with no physical keyboard, a 1GHz processor (believed to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon) and dedicated graphics. The second design is currently believed to be a sliding QWERTY with a touchscreen. And lastly the third chassis remains a perplexing mystery, however it's set to be revealed not long after the official Windows Phone 7 Series launch.

Special recognition has to go to Microsoft Australia developers Michael Kordahi and Andrew Coates, who leaked the news via their podcast "Frankly Speaking".

With Microsoft allowing OEM's little internal differentiation, one has to hope that manufacturers are able to design handsets that are both physically attractive as well as practical. -- Expect to hear more of the mobile operating system at Microsoft's MIX conference in March.
