Make your own version of Twitter, now!

Twitter is amazing, and they have once again upped the game - and given Developers their own website to play, learn and create using their extensive library’s of tools. Today at Chirp, the Twitter conference for app developers, Twitter Platform Director Ryan Sarver said they would be giving developers their own little space for developing apps and getting more and better information about the Twitter APIs. More info after the break!

the iPad is cat friendly

This video has been making the rounds, even more so than standing cat.

What’s this prove? Nothing really. Simply that you should forget about laser pointers or balls of yard; The iPad is the perfect cat toy, and it’s a steal at only $500+ dollars!

Survey says Xbox 360 has 42% fail rate

In a recent survey done by No Fuss Reviews the raw data shows that the Xbox 360 has an absolutely dismal failure rate at 42%. Yeah, that’s just shy of 1 out of every 2 consoles guaranteed to get those dreaded Red Rings. That’s just insane, Microsoft!

But it should be noted for those that are unaware, if anyone’s 360 ever does get the RROD (red rings of doom) then it’s covered under the warranty for up to 3 full years. That’s plainly Microsoft acknowledge that they screwed up big time, though I still don’t see why they just can’t permanently fix it. Also just to add, the survey doesn’t mention that out of the 500,000 participants which Xbox models were used to collect the data - it was just a general surveying if your console has ever failed you in any capacity, even in cases unrelated to the RROD error.

What  I find interesting is that in my own personal experience I’ve never had an issue with my 360 consoles (knock on wood.) And that’s me owning two 360’s - 1 launch system and 1 Arcade console. I don’t know what to say except that I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones.

Game Gripper turns your Droid into a Gameboy of sorts

Game Gripper turns your Droid into a Gameboy of sorts

Motorola’s Droid is arguably one of the best Android handsets on the market, but it has long been crippled by a keyboard that’s not really suited for gaming. Sure the D-Pad is great, but being on the right side of the device is more of a nuisance than anything.

For $15 Game Gripper will attempt to alleviate the issue in a retro GameBoy sort of way. It might not be up to the standards of professional / hardcore gamers, but hey it’s better than nothing. - Learn More

Could Skyfire finally bring Flash to the iPhone?

Apple has whole-heartedly agreed that Flash will never come to the iPhone, but what if flash content could be viewed without the need for an Adobe Flash installation? Opera Mini paved the way, penetrating Apple’s fortress of solitude. So it stands to reason that the precedent set should apply to other mobile browsers, right? That’s what the guys at Skyfire believe.

Similar to Opera Mini, Skyfire renders websites on a central server, ultimately resulting in quick playback on a mobile device. However, unlike Opera Mini, Skyfire has the ability to render both Flash and Silverlight. Therefore if Skyfire chose to implement an iPhone version of their browser the long debacle surrounding flash on Apple’s mobile products could (potentially) be resolved.

Opera is the top app in every iPhone App Store

Looks like iPhone users do want a choice - and it also looks like Safari Mobile is being totally pummeled into the past, and Opera is rapidly becoming the new browsing standard for the iPhone. When I was using Opera Mini, it was blistering fast, so fast in fact that my PC was starting to sweat. This app is the best thing that has happened to the app store in a long time, and you can obviously see that coming into reality. All 22 app stores (including US, UK, Canada, and Japan) have Opera Mini listed as the number one app in the entire app store. There is either a big smile on Steve’s face, or he is getting ready to choke the guy who approved the app.

Check it out - See for yourself!
