Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review - Part 1

After first playing the game I was super stoked and am loving it. The game feels smoother and somehow improved from Modern Warefare 1.

In a recent post by our very own Ricardo Trejo he explained about the controversial first level. Luckily, the game has an option to skip certain levels, such as one mentioned above, just in case the player finds it offensive. Sadly, though, I agree, if you can't handle the level, then why are you playing the game in the first place?

Dear Diary, Google Wave - Part 2

Dear Diary, Google Wave - Days 3, 4, 5:

Still no invites sadly, but I'm keeping my hope alive.

So before I go a little in depth on Wave let me answer a few questions. Why is Google Wave such a big deal? What does it do? And why should it be important to you?

Google's definition of Wave is this:

Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Dear Diary, Google Wave - Part 1

Google Wave - Day 1

Finally got my Wave invite... it's cold and lonely...

Let me back up a bit to earlier this week, Monday I believe. I found a swell fellow who was willing to send out a Google Wave invite over Twitter. Dude was just shouting off on a soapbox and sending them to unknowns, which was awesome, and I was able to nab one. Well, earlier today I received an email alerting me that my invite was ready. A simple click on a link, then signed onto my Google account, and viola I was all set to 'Wave.  There was a sense of accomplishment of just getting into this exclusive party, but there was one problem: I was alone in the club. Yes, I was now taking part in a new "ground breaking" communications tool, but there was no one to communicate with. Continued after the break [...]

Demon's Souls Review

Do you remember the days when games didn’t have checkpoints? Believe it or not, many gamers now have never known of a time where when you died you had to start at the beginning of the level and do it all over again. You could do about 20 mins worth of work and then have it all melt away when you came to your demise. Demon’s Souls is that exact kind of game; Hours of your life can be lost on trying just to pass a single level. But is it all worth it, or is it a waste of your precious life?

iPhone 3GS VS Droid - Ultimate smartphone showdown

The iPhone is one of the most recognized and praised phones ever created and we even dubbed it as "the Jesus phone". But is this the best phone? Sure it is the most popular thing since the watch calculator but again, is it the best? Ever since DROID mania, the iPhone has been a little skiddish. With the 5 megapixle camera, real keyboard and bigger screen, the DROID looks to be the only plausible iPhone killer. Greg Kumparak takes a look at the iPhone 3GS and Motorola Droid head-to-head in a brutal teardown of every feature, aspect and weakness of each phone. Its broken up into 2 parts so enjoy, and don't be surprised, err-hmm, if you are surprised.

AT&T Sues Verizon Over "there's a map for that" adds

So if you haven't seen the new Verizon Wireless adds yet, they show a nice map of the U.S. and the 3G coverage of both Verizon and AT&T. AT&T claims it makes new and existing customers think that they don't have coverage at all in many places around the U.S.. AT&T released in a statement:

In essence, we believe the ads mislead consumers into believing that AT&T doesn't offer ANY wireless service in the vast majority of the country. In fact, AT&T's wireless network blankets the US, reaching approximately 296M people. Additionally, our 3G service is available in over 9,600 cities and towns. Verizon's misleading advertising tactics appear to be a response to AT&T's strong leadership in smartphones. We have twice the number of smartphone customers... and we've beaten them two quarters in a row on net post-paid subscribers. We also had lower churn -- a sign that customers are quite happy with the service they receive.

I find it hilarious that AT&T really thinks they have any validity and would win but hey, it is America. AT&T starts listed off points such as,"reaching approximately 296M people" as if that means anything about 3G. AT&T does say that they have coverage with their 3G network where Verizon has no coverage at all. I think all us iPhone users can agree that we hope AT&T spends as much time creating more 3G coverage as it does making lawsuits.

Squarespace iPhone app Review and Demo

[Video cover image by Brandon Davenport]

The new Squarespace iPhone app is another example of what makes Squarespace great. It works, its feature rich and its fancy looking. Its got a multitude of features to use, like Posting offline and managing multiple Squarespace accounts. In this video, I will show you the ins-and outs of the Squarespace iPhone app based on 2 days of use and 2 days of “wow”.

Pros - The app seamlessly integrates the Squarespace experience into the palm of your hand. Also the look of it will please even the most snotty web designer. The app is feature rich with website stats, offline posting, management tools and photo uploading.

Cons - The app can run slow at times, and can seem unresponsive. This appears not to be an issue on the iPhone 3GS, due to its gain in speed. Also I experienced 1 crash while using it, this is probably due to it being version 1.0 (and there is always room for improvement.)
