Lead MobileNotifier Developer Scooped up by Apple

Notifications on the iPhone and other iOS devices have been a riot mess for quite sometime now. We have seen a barrage of utilities and applications developed for those willing to take the plunge into jailbreak fandom, the most promising and unobtrusive system being MobileNotifier. In fact, some may remember our original article on the matter. Since then however, MobileNotifier has transgressed from beta build software to semi-official Apple software. Let me explain; it has recently come to light that the original developer behind MobileNotifier was scooped up by an undisclosed fruit based company located in Cupertino, California.

Sony Files Trademark Claim for PS Vita

Early last week we reported that Sony’s upcoming handheld console, known to most as the NGP or ‘Next Generation Portable,’ would be branded the “PS Vita.” While at first some felt as though the name was seemingly ridiculous, it now appears as though the name PS Vita will be sticking around. Last friday in Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment filed a pair of trademark claims for both the name “PS Vita” and its pairing logo. — Details after the break!

Windows Phone 7 update discussed on Developer Podcast

Since Windows Phone 7’s inaugural release I’ve shown increasing interest towards its update line. As most know, over the past several months Microsoft has released pre-updates in anticipation for Windows Phone’s first official update. And while initially it was unveiled that the Mango upgrade for Windows Phone devices would come equipped with some form of multitasking, as well as copy & paste; it has now been revealed via the latest Windows Phone Developer Podcast, that Mango will come with some other delectable mobile goodies.

HTC surpasses Nokia in sheer Market Cap

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has managed to surpass yet another mobile competitor; the proof is in the pudding, it’s good to be aboard Google’s smartphone operating system. Having recently passed BlackBerry outfitter, Research in Motion, HTC has continued to tread forward finally besting Nokia in sheer market cap. Today, HTC’s market cap is valued at $33.8 billion. In contrast, Nokia’s market cap is valued at $32.4 billion and RIM’s market cap is valued at $28.5 billion.
