Windows Phone 7 handsets can be disabled with a single specific SMS text

If I didn’t already own an iPhone then I’d definitely be the proud owner of one of those snazzy Windows Phone 7 handsets. I mean, the only reason why I don’t have one right now is the lack of support it gets as a platform. Though with reports about a single line of text disabling phones from a distance I don’t envy those who do have one. — More after the break!

How much data do the iPhone's top 10 most used apps consume? -- (Infographic)

I’ve never cared to look at how much data I use on my iPhone since I’m constantly connected to WiFi both at home and at work. But recently, since I’ve gotten my fiancé an iPhone 4, I’ve noticed that the amount of usage certain apps get plays a big part into one’s staying well below, or completely sky rocketing over their data limit. For those of unfortunate to not be connected to your own personal WiFi these figures might help relieve some stress that these top 10 apps aren’t the problem. Also, do yourself a favor and download Onavo! — More after the break!

Shigeru Miyamoto says he's preparing Nintendo with retirement talk

Despite the exclusive interview with Wired, in which Nintendo’s godfather, Shigeru Miaymoto — who created such franchises like Super Mario Bros. and — mentioned he was thinking of taking a smaller role at legendary gaming firm, and would “retire” from his current position, it now appears that this won’t be the case at all. And while Shiggy seemed to know that Nintendo wouldn’t allow it, he seems to enjoy scaring the exec’s at the Big N. — More after the break!

Chris Nolan explains why Bane is the perfect villain for the Dark Knight finale

Back in 2006, when Heath Ledger was first chosen as the next guy to portray Batman’s arch-nemesis, the Joker, the entire Batman fandom called foul. How could a gay cowboy play the most iconic, comic-book villain of all time? Fast forward a few years and an Academy Award victory cemented Ledger, as well as the The Dark Knight, into what would become THE best superhero film of all time. With an answer like that it’s hard to question anything that Christopher Nolan dreams up — especially after following up the last Batman movie with an original masterpiece in Inception. So, now that The Dark Knight Rises is soon to be released next summer, why exactly did Nolan go with Bane opposite Batman in the finale instead of someone else more well known, like Riddler? Nolan would like to explain. — More after the break!

Next iOS update will let you delete single images from Photo Stream

Ever since iOS 5 was released I gotta admit that I still haven’t stopped oo’ing and ah’ing and at all the shiny new notifications, iTunes match stuff, and iCloud features. But one thing I cannot stand is Photo Stream. While, yes, it is one of the most convenient features brought via iCloud, what’s with the inability to delete single images from my own account? I have to reset the entire Photo Stream just to get rid of one image I don’t want shared around all my iDevices? Well, in the latest developer beta of iOS 5, those days will be long gone, as Photo Stream gets a much needed update. — More after the break!

Luke Skywalker aka Mark Hamill attended the VGA's and did not approve

I was hopeful for this year’s VGA’s. Why? Well, like the SEGA fans who constantly fell prey to the Sonic cycle, I seemed to believe that Geoff Keighley has always wanted to do the right thing — that he was simply biding his time until the show garnered enough of an audience, and then he would one year lift the veil, poof some magic fairy dust, and give us the ritzy, glamerous award show we’ve always wanted. But nope. No, no no, far from it. — More after the break!

Here are your 2011 VGA winners and premiere trailers

As the show began there was a glimmer of hope and promise. Zach Levi, star of NBC’s Chuck, seemed genuine and was as passionate about his role as host just as last year’s Neil Patrick Harris was. The intro to the show was done quite well too, with even a nod to the fact that the audience was made up of developers from the various studios. The way in which Zach said, “this night is for you, for the developers,” gave me a slight tingle that this could be the year the show was redeemed. And yet… here we are… *sigh* And what’s worse is that between all the countless jokes, puns, trailers, and premieres, the award show aired only about 4 actual awards on stage. Talk about pathetic. So if you wanna know who won just hit the jump. — More after the break!
